The Workers of Argentina

1948 Buenos Aires, Argentina

There has been word that President Perón will be giving a speech next Monday. We do not know the main point of this address but we have faith to believe that this speech will discuss the rights of workers. President Perón is known for his desire to eliminate poverty and to uplift the people of Argentina to a higher standard of living. It would not be surprising if these topics are included in his speech as well. In fact, his office just sent us a telegram saying that “President Peron’s speech is an attempt to create a feeling of unity in Argentina. Through this speech he is attempting to uplift the laborers of Argentina by recognizing their struggles and promising reform that will improve their lives and working conditions.” Along with this we received a snippet of his speech “For too long you have had to work in unbearable conditions and receive unlivable wages. I have recognized your struggles and I strive to bring you out of the darkness. Now is your time! The laborers of Argentina need their recognition!”
