Imminent Change

Ladies and gentlemen of our land, it is time for change! Lately our government has been full of corruption and we, the people are not being treated right. In terms of equality, there is none and we all have a right to equality. Many of our fellow people are suffering from poverty and are in need of help. The haciendos of our nation are even being affected by the recent burden of inequality. I will no longer sit here and allow these so called “leaders” ruin our lives and our country. They promised for a revolution but they have not executed their promises, and it’s time for new leadership. We, the people together, can help guide these changes. So it is now that we must stand up for our rights and make a change.

Revolution after revolution promise a change for the best. Some revolutions work but many don’t follow up and back up their promises. We all have visions for what we want our land to look like and how it is run. With these current politicians we will never have that vision that we forsee ourselves having. These politicians are living a life full of lies and it is clear to all of us. These lies need to become the truth and the only way for that to happen is to get rid of these corrupt people and for a new beginning. I want to fight these people so that future generations like my kids, my grandkids, and great-grandkids can live the life that I envisioned. That last statement alone, is what is motivating more than anything else for change! We must work and it and step by step, together we can get it done.

I come from a rural area so I am not one of wealth by any means. It seems like my fellow workers and I are the ones being treated unfairly. May family and I are behind financially enough then to be treated the way we are. The haciendos or rich people above us are being treated like the superiors they are. What is wrong with this picture? Whatever happened to equality? All human beings I see are equal; we all can offer different things to the land. Yes we may not have the education of those from wealthy families, but we are still smarter than them in certain areas. Aren’t we the laborers that provide goods for these rich families and even these corrupt politicians? So then why are we being treated as if we don’t even exist? Without us where would our economy be? Much of the income of our land comes from what we make with our hands or grow as rural farmers.

So it is now my fellow people that we rise up and start this movment towards equality. Like I said before I have always had a vision of a land full of equality. With these leaders above us, no such thing is going to happen in the future, if ever. I feel like people around the world view us as underachievers and non-factors. We must prove to those people that we can indeed follow through on our part of the world’s economy and welfare. Let’s prove these people wrong and show them just what we can do, TOGETHER! Together we can’t be denied, and together is what it’s going to take to get that vision. Thank you and God Bless

  1. Good idea speaking about the movements for equality as well as how they must do it together as a group. They tie in together nicely

  2. We've been waiting a long time to hear these words. We want politicians to care for us, not run us into the ground.

What you promise is all fine and good, but as a citizen who has been jaded before by politicians, you'll forgive me if I take your words with a grain of salt. However, for the time being you have my support. Best of luck.

  3. I really enjoyed listening to your speech. I think you make great points. As a working class, urban citizen I think it is so important for us to be recognized and acknowledged for our hard work with better treatment and more equality. One thing, I thought you could have mentioned in your speech was that about women. As a woman, I believe that it is necessary that we receive just as equal treatment as men and the rest of the citizens.
Thank you for your speech and your arguments for the betterment of society through the betterment of the treatment of the middle class. You have very strong arguments!
