The Catholic Response to the Lerdo Law

My children, the enemies of the faith have changed; they are no longer beating us and killing us in the streets as the Romans to those who kept the faith so many years ago. Today, the enemies of believers disguise themselves well. They call our traditions outdated and pointless and greedy, they blame all of this country’s problems on us and now they seek to take away the things we hold dear through earthly law. Sebastian Lerdo, the liberal secular sycophant who so long ago turned his back on our faith, conspires to rob the church of its strength and the poor communities of the faithful of their land.

He calls us greedy as he and his secularist cronies plot to rob us of the land that you have given us in good faith. To take from us is to take from you; there is no division among the faithful. Lerdo and his ilk are greedy, shameless and spiteful towards our holy and exhalted Church, he has made it his enemy. If he is an enemy of the Church, then he is an enemy all God’s faithful, and if he is an enemy of all God’s faithful, then he is an enemy of God.

They talk the greatness of this Lerdo Law, of course they do, because it benefits the government, it gives them more power, and it seems they cannot have enough. Shouldn’t laws benefit all the population? They are forcing us to sell our lands, the church lands. And yes, these lands are under the church name, but who consolidates the church? We are all the members of the church. The church is not the priests and nuns, no! We are all sons and daughters of Christ; we are all brothers and sisters, we are all one body and what disturbs one part of the body, disturbs the whole.

When Sebastian Lerdo addresses the crowds in the streets as a politician, he tells them what they want to hear, no how things really are. And what many don’t know is that this Law forbids a corporate body to own land. The Catholic Church is a corporate body, but it is not the only one, there are indigenous villages that are communally owned by the members of that village. They believe that communal lands benefits them more than private property. This law forces them to sell their land as well. It will create controversy in these communities, and also not only disputes, among the members of that village but also between the indigenous population and the government.

The Lerdo Law is in offense of the Church, the Magisterium, and all that we as children of God, hold near and dear. The Church needs its land in order to continue as things have always been. This Lerdo Law, hurts not only the Church, but the indigenous population. They will be forced to give up their land, just as the Church will have to.

Not only is the Lerdo Law in offense of the Church, the Magisterium, and all that we have as children of God held near and dear, but it is of more controversy than the Juárez Law. I am reiterating this point because great controversy in communities is not what this country needs. It is said that the thought of this law is to encourage development, but it will simply cost the population more on taxes. One may strive to find the benefits of this law, but will be left without an answer.

As children of God we must fight against this Lerdo Law. It is taking away what belongs to the Church and putting it in the hands of greedy individuals. When the land of the Church is taken away what will we have left? I am bringing this up again because this is insulting to the Church and we should be more angered with this. This law is only benefitting the government and the greedy individuals that support this. We must think about what other precedents this law is setting for our government officials. I feel that this is the first step of our government in taking power away from Church.

The Catholic Church firmly opposes this Lerdo Law. The people that are responsible for the creation of this law tell you that they are doing you a service by taking away the land of your mother Church. These men are aristocrats that realize that with the issue of such a law that they would benefit from it the most, and what would be left to you God’s children. They offer you hope while stacking the odds against you by wishing to gain personal wealth for them. They will manipulate you so that they can gain from it. The Catholic Church urges you to keep to your faith and not be brought in by this tempting servant that would long for you to trust him as did Adam and Eve which led to their fall from grace. When you put your faith in your holy Catholic Church then you will surely be rewarded while there is much doubt about what would happen if you are to approve. The Catholic Church asks you to pray so that you will see the villainy behind the seemingly great opportunity. The Church has always provided plenty for you and to approve of such a law would be a most treacherous act against the Catholic Church which you all hold so dear.

  1. Lerdo has been working with the Church when it came to the creation of this law because he wanted the church invloved. In addition, the church provides little to no actual knowledge just faith, just like the Iberian scum.
